The first round of the NFL playoffs is done, and the dreams of holding the Lombardi trophy are crushed for 4 teams. So, with that being said, lets see who made it and who didn't.
Kansas City Chiefs @ Indianapoilis Colts:
The Chiefs Stormed into into Lucas Oil Stadium looking to send the underdog Colts home early, and it appeared as though they would do just that, but well, lets just say the Colts had a little bit of "Luck" on their side (sorry I had to) Thats right folks, Andrew Luck lead the Colts back from a 28 point deficit in the 2nd half of the game to beat the Chiefs 45-44. As i watched this game a few things stuck out to me.
1.) Luck's first drive: 7 for 7, 74 yards with a TD
2.) Uh Oh, Charles is out for the Chiefs, along with Avery, and now Flowers, And now the backup for Charles is out too. It was an awful day of injuries for the Chiefs, but still, an even worse collapse.
3.) The poise of Andrew Luck. No matter how far they were down, and despite the two awful picks he threw, he still came back every time. Luck Played his heart out and it showed. Watch out New England.
4.) Holy T.Y Hilton. He wasn't stopped all day. He's been the guy since Reggie Wayne went down. Two words to describe him? Play. Maker.
New Orleans Saints @ Philadelphia Eagles:
This was a pretty even game until the Saints picked it up in the second half to take a 20-7 lead. From there they were able to finish the job and prove that they can win in cold weather. I will now take a moment to bash the Eagles. After the game some players felt that New Orleans was "lucky" with their victory. My thoughts? BS.
San Diego Chargers @ Cincinnati Bengals:
Andy Dalton, Prepare to get buried by the media, because well, you deserve it. Andy Dalton's play in todays game was absolutely awful, he made ridiculous errors and looked pathetic in doing so. Ouch, that sounded harsh, but that's just the cold hard truth. He's taken his bengals team to the playoffs for 3 straight years, so yes i'll give you credit for that. But you need to step UP in the postseason, not DOWN. And until you do, everyone will continue to doubt you. But it should be mentioned also that the Chargers played a solid game, both on the ground and through the air. Chargers won 27-10.
San Francisco 49ers @ Green Bay Packers:
The talk of this game was the freezing temperatures at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. I had my doubts that the 49ers could pull it off but they did. I guess Ric Flairs' Pep talk yesterday helped the Niners afterall. Woooo. I bet nobody understood that reference of the "wooo", but I thought it was pretty clever. Anyway, impressive performance by the Niners on the road. Lets see how they fair against the Panthers next week.
Speaking of next week heres a look at all of next weekends match-ups.
For AFC:
Indianapolis Colts @ New England Patriots
San Diego Chargers @ Denver Broncos
